Why does it cost to post Restaurant and Bar listings?

We exist to serve communities and spread the “hype” of what they have to offer to the rest of the world.  Most listings are free, yet as with any business, there are operating costs.  You can see a few examples below.  We charge a minimal amount for Restaurants and Bars as they will see the highest hate of return, and will most likely be able to cover the expense through as little as one new customer.  The fee easily works into any marketing budget, as it amounts to less than $3.00 per month for worldwide advertising to “qualified” potential customers who are either in the area or coming to the area.  Below are just a few examples of what the funds go to:

  • Daily monitoring of posts and site to monitor quality and eliminate SPAM
  • High security to prevent hacks and potential threats to the site and members information
  • Customer service staffing to quickly answer technical questions and respond to suggestions for improving the site
  • Constant growth of server space to keep up with the volume and enhance loading speeds
  • Development of new services such as mobile apps for smart phones for people on the go
  • Constant advertising of the site through SEO, Google keywords, search engines, Google Ads, Facebook, Twitter, local events, etc…
